Mission Statement “To facilitate sustainable growth and development of the communications, transport and meteorological sectors in order to stimulate national development and ensure the provision of efficient, safe, adequate, quality and environmentally friendly services for the benefit of the people of Zambia” The Values The Ministry of Communications and Transport (MCT) shall remain committed and focused in making the fundamental changes necessary to become a more responsive, efficient, effective, transparent and forward looking, capable of facing the social-economic challenges and opportunities of the new millennium. Performance Goals Policy, Legal, and Institutional Reforms. Objective - To develop and monitor the implementation of appropriate policies, legal, and institutional frameworks to foster the development of sustainable transport, meteorology and information and communications sub-sectors.
Infrastructure Development. Objective - To promote private sector participation in the construction, installation, and maintenance of infrastructure and provision of services in the transport, meteorological and information and communications sub-sectors in order to stimulate economic growth.
E-Government and ICT Application. Objective - To establish and maintain an integrated and effective information and communications technology system for effective decision-making and dissemination of information.
Meteorological Information and Services Development. Objective - To ensure safety and an environmentally friendly meteorology and information and communication technology system through education, engineering, and enforcement.
ICT Enterprise Development. Objective To promote a stable, fair, and competitive investment climate to facilitate the development of Zambia as the hub for meteorology and information and communications technology in the region.
