The Ministry of Communications and Transport (MCT) shall remain committed and focused in making the fundamental changes necessary to become a more responsive, efficient, effective, transparent and forward looking, capable of facing the social-economic challenges and opportunities of the new millennium.
Policy, Legal, and Institutional Reforms.
- To develop and monitor the implementation of appropriate policies, legal, and institutional frameworks to foster the development of sustainable transport, meteorology and information and communications sub-sectors.
- To promote private sector participation in the construction, installation, and maintenance of infrastructure and provision of services in the transport, meteorological and information and communications sub-sectors in order to stimulate economic growth.
E-Government and ICT Application.
- To establish and maintain an integrated and effective information and communications technology system for effective decision-making and dissemination of information.
Meteorological Information and Services Development.
- To ensure safety and an environmentally friendly meteorology and information and communication technology system through education, engineering, and enforcement.
ICT Enterprise Development.To promote a stable, fair, and competitive investment climate to facilitate the development of Zambia as the hub for meteorology and information and communications technology in the region.
